PRESS RELEASE — Switzerland/October 24, 2023 — Swiss innovators at Akina are on the verge of a significant advancement after securing CHF 1 million in direct funding from Innosuisse to drive the development of their state-of-the-art AI physiotherapy software.
Akina has secured a substantial CHF 1,006,235.30 through Innosuisse’s competitive Startup Innovation Project, a non-dilutive funding program that champions the product launches of Switzerland’s most promising startups. With an acceptance rate of less than 10%, Akina is one of the few successful applicants to receive this prestigious grant.
These newly acquired funds will be instrumental in accelerating the launch of Akina’s AI software product designed for connected physiotherapy in Switzerland. As the calendar turns towards 2024, Akina’s next significant milestone will revolve around rigorous product validation in collaboration with their expanding roster of clinical partners. Simultaneously, Akina is actively pursuing reimbursement through the Swiss MiGeL framework. This direct, non-dilutive support from Innosuisse serves as a robust springboard for Akina’s forthcoming seed financing round scheduled for early next year.
Akina won the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award in 2023 and was a winner of Venture Kick Stage 3 in 2022.
