Together AI, supported by NVIDIA, announced a $106 million funding boost on Wednesday, led by Salesforce Ventures, catapulting its valuation to $1.25 billion.
This recent capital influx, with contributions from Coatue Management, Lux Capital, and Emergence Capital, will fuel the expansion of computing resources and the recruitment of research talent to innovate model architectures.
The company, founded in 2022 and known for facilitating access to NVIDIA’s GPUs, aims to broaden its offerings to enable developers to craft or tailor open-source AI models.
CEO Vipul Ved Prakash noted that Together AI, boasting 45,000 users, plans to use the funds for scaling up operations and enhancing model development. This move comes as AI startups see a surge in investment, driven by the generative AI sector’s growth and the success of platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
“We are really becoming one of the default places if you want to use open models or customized models, and deploy them for large scale applications,” said Prakash.
