Microsoft has unveiled the creation of a new AI hub in London, named Microsoft AI London, aimed at developing advanced language models and tools in partnership with OpenAI and others. Jordan Hoffmann, a former AI expert at Inflection and DeepMind, will lead the hub, supported by a skilled team at the London Paddington office.
The initiative reflects Microsoft’s commitment to harnessing the U.K.’s rich AI talent by making substantial investments and expanding its team with driven innovators. This move aligns with Microsoft’s broader efforts, including a £2.5 billion investment to enhance the U.K.’s AI workforce and infrastructure, underscoring its commitment to advancing AI technology responsibly within the region.
