NVIDIA Set to Acquire Israeli Startup Run:ai for Enhanced GPU Orchestration in AI Workloads

In an NVIDIA blog post Wednesday, the company announced that it plans to acquire Run:ai, a provider specializing in Kubernetes-based orchestration software to optimize AI workload management across varied computing environments. This acquisition is set to bolster NVIDIA’s ability to manage complex AI deployments that span cloud, edge, and on-premises data centers. Run:ai has developed a platform that enhances the scheduling and management of AI applications like generative AI and search engines, optimizing their performance across all infrastructure types.

The platform supports all major Kubernetes variants and integrates seamlessly with third-party AI tools, helping large enterprises manage extensive GPU clusters more efficiently. Run:ai and NVIDIA have collaborated since 2020, sharing a goal to maximize infrastructure efficiency for their customers.

NVIDIA intends to keep offering Run:ai’s products under the same business model for now, while also planning to integrate Run:ai’s capabilities into the NVIDIA DGX Cloud. This integration will provide enterprise developers with enhanced tools for managing large-scale AI deployments, including those utilizing large language models.

The merger will continue to support a wide range of third-party solutions, ensuring flexibility and broad ecosystem compatibility for customers, enabling them to optimize GPU utilization and manage their GPU infrastructure more effectively.
