Sesame, a Valencia-based HRTech startup, has raised $25 million (€23 million) in a funding round led by GP Bullhound funds and PSG. This investment will enhance software capabilities, introduce new verticals, and accelerate global expansion. Sesame also plans to launch financial features like expense tracking, payroll advances, and flexible compensation.
Since its inception in 2015, Sesame has rapidly expanded, serving over 8,000 clients and 300,000 users globally. The new funding will fuel significant growth, including doubling its workforce within a year. The company is hiring diverse candidates, including software developers, AI specialists, marketers, and sales professionals, to support its continued success.
Albert Soriano, CEO of Sesame, commented on the company:
“In Spain, different software is expected to be used to manage various human resources and finance tasks. Digitalization is already a reality, and the market is quite mature. We are encountering companies that demand an “all-in-one” solution that facilitates access and centralizes what they now have in different tools on a single platform. Another benefit that this round of investment will bring us is the opportunity to expand and improve the use of artificial intelligence at Sesame.
We were pioneers in Spain, within the human resources management software sector, in launching AI functionalities that allow us to improve and strengthen many of our tools, such as People Analytics, evaluations, recruitment or internal communication. We will invest a lot of effort in continuing along this path to apply AI and improve our users’ internal experience to be more agile and efficient. In addition, we will continue investing in talent, consolidating in Spain, and strengthening our presence in Latin America, especially in Mexico, where we have operated since last year, and continue opening markets in other European countries.”
