PRESS RELEASE Suno, a Cambridge, MA-based music technology startup, has raised $125 million in a funding round aimed at accelerating product development and expanding its team, according to a company post. Overall, the funds will support the company’s mission to make music creation accessible to everyone.

“We will use this funding to accelerate product development and grow our world-class team of music makers, music lovers, and technologists,” Mikey Shulman, Suno co-founder, writes in the post.

Suno launched its first product eight months ago, enabling users to create songs from simple ideas. The platform has already attracted 10 million users, including GRAMMY-winning artists and everyday people making music for the first time.

The latest funding round saw participation from investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, Nat Friedman, Daniel Gross, Matrix, and Founder Collective. Suno is also working with advisors like 3LAU, Aaron Levie, Alexandr Wang, Amjad Masad, Andrej Karpathy, Aravind Srinivas, Brendan Iribe, Flosstradamus, Fred Ehrsam, Guillermo Rauch, and Shane Mac.

“Our community of musicians deserves the very best tools, and building the very best tools requires the very best talent,” Shulman added.

Suno aims to reignite the joy of making music that many people experience as children but often lose as adults, according to Shulman. The platform has facilitated diverse musical activities, from producers crate digging to streamers co-creating songs with large audiences. It has also helped individuals, such as an artist who lost his voice, to revive their musical passions.

“Technology is a means to that end, and today’s state-of-the-art creates the potential for a flourishing of new sounds, new styles, and new artists in a way we’ve always dreamt about,” Shulman writes.

With the new funding, Suno plans to continue innovating and providing tools that enhance human creativity rather than replace it. The company invites those interested in shaping the future of music to join their mission.

For further updates and developments, Suno expressed gratitude to its community and promised exciting new features in the pipeline.
