The AI boom is driving up demand for powerful processors and the energy required to cool data centers. Sustainable Metal Cloud (SMC) is seizing this opportunity with its “sustainable AI factories” in Singapore and Australia, which use immersion cooling technology to reduce energy consumption by up to 50%. SMC’s HyperCubes, which house NVIDIA processors submerged in a synthetic oil for efficient cooling, enable high-density GPU hosting, essential for platforms like NVIDIA’s Grace Blackwell.
SMC’s immersion cooling is also 28% cheaper to install than other liquid-based solutions and can be deployed quickly in existing data centers. The company is expanding into new markets like Thailand and India, with NVIDIA and Deloitte among its key partners. SMC is also raising $950 million to fund its data center expansion beyond Singapore.
As liquid cooling gains traction due to rising performance demands, SMC’s approach offers a sustainable and efficient solution for AI-driven data centers.
