Leipzig-based TEDIRO Healthcare Robotics, a company specializing in mobile robotics for healthcare, has secured a seven-figure seed investment from bm|t, TGFS Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen, a business angel, and MetraLabs GmbH, from which TEDIRO was spun off.
This funding will enable TEDIRO to bring its medical robot to market and begin test installations in various clinics. The robot is designed for a range of applications, including orthopedics, neurology, and geriatrics.
TEDIRO plans to collaborate with partners to further develop these applications, positioning the robot as an innovative therapy platform. Founded by Anke Mayfarth and Dr. Christian Sternitzke, TEDIRO’s main focus is on creating software for therapy and diagnostics. Their mobile robot, THERY, is designed to assist medical staff in patient mobilization, earning the nickname “smartphone on wheels” for clinical care.
“Our robot THERY helps medical and therapeutic staff to improve the mobility of patients regardless of the presence of staff,” said TEDIRO founder Anke Mayfarth. “As a physiotherapist, I have always wanted a robot that would take over repetitive tasks for me. This wish is now becoming a reality.”
