With over 30 years of experience in the tech industry, Karim Amor, CEO of Synergeon and author of Renaissance Now, believes that Quantum AI will not only revolutionize how we approach data but will also fundamentally alter the fabric of our daily lives.
“People usually mix AI and Quantum AI, which is a very different thing,” said Amor with a statement that set the mood in a recent interview, distinguishing between traditional AI, which relies on vast data processing, and Quantum AI, which operates on entirely different principles. “AI, as we know it, was invented in 1957,” he continued. “It’s a very old technology that has existed for a long time.” Quantum AI, however, represents a new era in computing, leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics to solve problems that were previously thought to be unsolvable.
Amor described the power of Quantum AI with a striking comparison: “200 seconds of quantum computing that Google did was equivalent, bear in mind, to 10,000 years of super calculators.” This quantum leap in processing power is what makes Quantum AI so promising, particularly in fields like healthcare, where understanding the complexity of diseases could lead to breakthroughs.
“We use AI in our company to enhance the research that we do as far as the discovery of how the body interacts with sugar,” he noted, highlighting how Quantum AI could significantly improve medical research and disease prevention.
The conversation also went into the direction the broader implications of Quantum AI in society are headed.
“Quantum computers are not yet ready,” Amor cautioned, but he quickly added that “quantum calculations are coming very fast, and they are going to disrupt the whole world in their way.” This disruption is not something to fear, he suggests, but rather an opportunity to advance human potential and technology in ways we have yet to fully imagine.
As the interview concluded, Amor left us with a powerful thought: “AI is the most fantastic tool for prediction, so you can prevent what could occur.” His vision for the future is one where Quantum AI becomes an integral part of our lives, helping us navigate complex challenges with unprecedented speed and accuracy. With Quantum AI on the horizon, Amor believes that the future of technology is not just about what we can do today, but about preparing for the transformative possibilities of tomorrow.
