Aberdeen-based Leap Automation, specializing in AI-enabled robotics for the food industry, has secured £7.9 million in investment. The funding, led by the Scottish National Investment Bank, will help the company address labour shortages in the sector.
Founded in 2018 by Ben Bamford and Ben Stuart, Leap AI builds robotic systems and develops its own software to offer affordable automation solutions.
CEO Ben Stuart said the funds will grow their product and engineering team, aiming to attract top robotics talent. Leap AI’s first product, PikPak, launched in 2022, and they plan to release a new AI-enabled robotic platform in 2025.
