Artisan, a young startup focused on revolutionizing sales with AI-powered virtual employees, has secured $11.5 million in seed funding. Led by Oliver Jung and supported by investors like Y Combinator, HubSpot Ventures, and Day One Ventures, the company is rapidly growing, with more than 120 companies using its platform and $1 million in annual recurring revenue.
At the heart of Artisan’s platform is Ava, an AI assistant designed to handle tasks traditionally managed by business development representatives. Artisan’s 23-year-old CEO and co-founder, Jaspar Carmichael-Jack, said that Ava finds leads, researches companies and automates email and LinkedIn outreach. With access to over 300 million B2B lead profiles, Ava streamlines the sales process by eliminating the need for multiple tools, consolidating everything into a single platform.
Carmichael-Jack also acknowledged that AI will change the nature of sales jobs, shifting workers from automatable tasks to more human-centered roles.
Looking ahead, Artisan plans to expand its AI assistant offerings to marketing and customer success, signaling a broader future for AI in business operations. The backing from HubSpot Ventures highlights the growing interest in AI-first approaches, even among traditional software providers.
As AI continues to reshape the sales landscape, the role of human salespeople may evolve, with digital companions like Ava taking center stage in business operations.
