Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, talked with CNBC earlier this month on the pivotal role artificial intelligence (AI) is playing in transforming data center infrastructure. As a leading player in digital infrastructure, Vertiv has positioned itself to support the AI-driven demand spike for cooling and power solutions.
Albertazzi expressed confidence in the industry’s growth trajectory, noting: “We are in a very strong position to really enjoy the benefits” that AI’s rising demand brings to data centers. With Vertiv’s extensive experience in the sector, the company has been quick to respond to this demand, reinforcing its leadership in data center cooling and power solutions amid an industry shift.
He paid attention to AI’s role in the sector is just beginning, describing it as the “very, very early stage of whatever AI will be,” adding that AI “will go on for quite a long while.” He believes AI is ushering in “another revolution,” one that will continually drive demand for advanced infrastructure in the foreseeable future. This demand has already bolstered Vertiv’s operations, as reflected in their strong financial performance and growing market share.
Albertazzi also pointed to Vertiv’s strategic partnerships, such as with major players like NVIDIA, as a defining factor in the company’s approach to AI.
“We work with the biggest players, both on the customer side and on the technology side, defining the technology of the future,” he explained, underscoring Vertiv’s proactive stance in the evolving landscape of AI and digital infrastructure.
Addressing the energy-intensive nature of data centers, Albertazzi acknowledged the growing need for sustainable solutions.
“Energy efficiency is built into everything we do,” he said, which stresses Vertiv’s commitment to developing solutions that support the long-term sustainability of data centers. With AI expanding rapidly, Vertiv is dedicated to ensuring its infrastructure remains both energy-efficient and capable of meeting the demands of a new era.
