Paris-based Raidium, a company specializing in 3D medical imaging models for radiology, announced on Thursday, November 28, that it has raised €16 million in a seed funding round. The round was co-led by Newfund and Kurma Partners, with participation from Galion.exe, Founders Future, Debiopharm, Techmind, and the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA).
Founded by Paul Herent and Pierre Manceron, Raidium is focused on developing a 3D Large Vision Language foundation model tailored for analyzing CT scans and MRIs. The model, which has been trained on a proprietary dataset provided by their partner, Centre Imagerie du Nord, aims to enhance radiologists’ efficiency and effectiveness in medical imaging. Alongside the model, Raidium has also developed a prototype for an innovative user interface designed specifically for radiologists.
The funding will enable Raidium to launch their prototyped product in the market and continue expanding their highly skilled team. This announcement follows the company’s selection for the prestigious EIC Accelerator funding program just four months ago.
Raidium’s mission is to empower radiologists with tools that enhance the use of medical imaging, paving the way for the creation of new and innovative biomarkers that can significantly benefit patients. The funding marks a major milestone for the company as it prepares to bring its cutting-edge technology to market.
