AMD Unveils New Ryzen AI Processors to Power Next-Gen AI PCs

In a press release issued ahead of CES 2025, AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) announced its latest lineup of Ryzen™ AI processors, reinforcing its leadership in the AI PC market. The new products include the Ryzen AI Max Series, Ryzen AI 300 Series, and Ryzen 200 Series, each designed to cater to varying performance needs across premium notebooks, workstations, and everyday computing.

The Ryzen AI Max Series processors, built on AMD’s Zen 5 architecture, bring workstation-level performance to ultra-portable devices. With up to 16 CPU cores, 40 RDNA 3.5 graphics compute units, and 50 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) of AI processing, they are engineered for demanding tasks in gaming, content creation, and AI-accelerated workflows. Systems powered by these processors are set to launch in Q1 2025.

AMD also introduced the Ryzen AI 300 Series, expanding AI capabilities in thin and light notebooks. These processors, featuring up to 8 cores and the latest XDNA 2 Neural Processing Unit, promise up to five times the AI performance of previous generations. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 200 Series extends AMD’s legacy Zen 4 architecture to mainstream devices, offering energy-efficient solutions for everyday productivity.

Jack Huynh, Senior Vice President of AMD’s Computing and Graphics Group, noted that the processors aim to bring the power of a workstation to thin and light laptops while addressing the growing demand for AI-driven productivity.

With expanded OEM partnerships, including new collaborations with Dell, ASUS, HP, and Lenovo, AMD aims to drive AI innovation across the industry. Systems featuring these processors will become available throughout 2025, heralding a new era for AI PCs.
