HP Acquires Humane’s AI Capabilities to Advance Intelligent Ecosystem

HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire AI-powered platform Cosmos, along with key technical talent and intellectual property from Humane, including over 300 patents and patent applications. The $116 million transaction, set to close by the end of the month, marks a significant step in HP’s transformation into an experience-led technology company.

Tuan Tran, President of Technology and Innovation at HP, stated that the acquisition will accelerate AI integration across HP’s ecosystem, enabling seamless AI orchestration across devices from AI PCs to smart printers and connected conference rooms. He emphasized that Humane’s expertise will drive new functionality and innovation for HP customers.

With this acquisition, HP gains a team of highly skilled engineers, architects, and product innovators, who will form HP IQ, the company’s new AI innovation lab. This division will focus on developing next-generation AI experiences across HP’s product portfolio.

Humane Co-founders Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri expressed enthusiasm about joining HP, highlighting the company’s scale, global reach, and operational excellence as a catalyst for shaping the future of intelligent experiences. They emphasized that integrating Humane’s design-led approach with HP’s AI strategy will redefine workforce productivity.
