Deeploy Closes €7.5M Funding Round from EIC to Advance Trustworthy AI in Europe

Deeploy, a leading Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) platform, has secured €7.5 million in funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) to scale its efforts in trustworthy and explainable AI. The funding, part of the EIC Accelerator’s “Human-Centric Generative AI Made in Europe” challenge, positions Deeploy at the forefront of ethical AI governance and compliance.

Maarten Stolk, CEO and Co-founder of Deeploy, emphasized that Europe has established a global benchmark for AI ethics, and the funding will allow the company to expand its platform while ensuring AI remains transparent and aligned with European values. The EIC acknowledged Deeploy’s leadership in AI governance, stating that the company reinforces Europe’s commitment to building transparent and accountable AI solutions.

Founded in 2020 by Bastiaan van de Rakt, Tim Kleinloog, Maarten Stolk, and Nick Jetten, Deeploy provides explainability-driven AI deployment solutions for regulated industries such as healthcare, banking, insurance, and government. The company integrates built-in explainability methods, automated compliance documentation, and bias detection tools to align with the upcoming EU AI Act and ISO standards.

Tim Kleinloog, CTO and Co-founder of Deeploy, highlighted the importance of AI governance beyond check-the-box compliance, stating that the funding will help enhance explainability for complex AI models, strengthen compliance features, and expand partnerships across Europe. The EIC’s investment includes a €2.5 million grant, with an additional €5 million in reserved equity for future funding rounds, further reinforcing Deeploy’s role in shaping AI sovereignty in Europe.
