Uthana, a Los Angeles-based generative AI company, has raised $4.3 million in funding to accelerate the development of its AI-driven 3D character animation platform. The round was led by IA Ventures, with participation from A16Z Speedrun, Acequia Capital, Cursor Capital, HustleFund, MetaVision, and JonesTrauber. The investment will fuel the company’s expansion and enhance its AI animation capabilities, bringing cutting-edge motion generation technology to creators worldwide.
Led by CEO Viren Tellis, Uthana is transforming 3D animation with AI-powered tools that drastically reduce production time. Its generative AI platform streamlines animation workflows, enabling users to generate character movements within minutes using intuitive prompts. The platform includes Text-to-Motion (TTM), which creates animations based on plain language descriptions, and Video-to-Motion (VTM), which applies motion from reference videos to 3D characters. Additionally, its Motion Library offers a searchable database of over 10,000 motion assets, including detailed finger data, allowing creators to refine animations with ease.
Uthana is now launching an Open Beta for its platform, inviting animators, game developers, and digital artists to experience the next generation of AI-driven animation tools. By leveraging generative AI, the company aims to redefine character animation, making high-quality motion capture accessible and efficient for creative professionals across industries.
