Israeli startup Sola has announced its emergence from stealth, securing $30 million in seed funding to redefine cybersecurity through a low/no-code platform for building customized security applications. The round was co-led by S Capital and former Sequoia VC Mike Moritz, with participation from S32, Glilot Capital Partners, and angel investors.
Founded by cybersecurity veterans Guy Flechter and Ron Peled, Sola aims to democratize security automation by enabling organizations to create tailored security applications without deep technical expertise. Flechter, who previously co-founded Cider Security, acquired by Palo Alto Networks for $300 million, emphasized that Sola offers an alternative to costly commercial solutions and complex open-source tools. He stated that the platform simplifies security management, allowing users to set goals in natural language and generate applications that integrate seamlessly with existing security tools.
Sola’s AI-powered interface automates security processes, pulling data from multiple sources to generate actionable insights. Flechter explained that the platform can query existing security tools while also offering built-in security functionalities. For those preferring ready-made solutions, Sola provides a library of pre-built applications covering cloud security, developer environments, and identity management platforms like AWS, GitHub, Okta, and Wiz.
Moritz highlighted Sola’s potential to leverage rapid AI advancements, comparing its approach to transformative companies like Stripe and Canva, which simplified complex workflows through intuitive front-end interfaces. He noted that Sola’s platform has evolved significantly over the past 18 months, benefiting from breakthroughs in AI and automation.
With its fresh funding, Sola is set to expand its AI-driven security automation capabilities, making advanced cybersecurity more accessible and cost-effective for enterprises of all sizes.
