Featherless.ai Secures $5M Seed Round from Airbus Ventures to Scale Serverless AI Inference

Featherless.ai, the pioneering serverless AI inference platform, has secured a $5 million Seed investment from Airbus Ventures to accelerate its mission of making AI more accessible and cost-effective. The funding will enable Featherless.ai to enhance GPU utilization, eliminate downtime, and significantly reduce operational costs, offering AI inference at a fraction of traditional expenses.

Founder and CEO Eugene Cheah emphasized that AI adoption remains costly and complex, particularly in emerging markets. He stated that Featherless.ai aims to eliminate these barriers by providing an affordable and scalable way to deploy open-source AI models in production.

With over 4,000 AI models, Featherless.ai offers flat capacity pricing, allowing businesses to scale AI usage without unpredictable costs. The company plans to expand into vision, speech, and embeddings, supporting all major AI modalities.

Airbus Ventures Principal Yuichiro Hikosaka highlighted Featherless.ai’s ability to address fundamental inefficiencies in AI architecture, positioning it as a key player in the global AI ecosystem. The company also contributes to the RWKV foundation model project, the first AI model under the Linux Foundation, furthering its commitment to open-source AI development.
