Bill Gates Believes AI Will Replace Most Human Roles Within a Decade, Ushering in an Era of ‘Free Intelligence’

Bill Gates says that artificial intelligence is advancing so rapidly, most tasks currently performed by humans will soon be handled by machines. In a recent interview on The Tonight Show, the Microsoft co-founder predicted a future where high-quality medical advice and education are free and universally accessible through AI.

Speaking with Harvard’s Arthur Brooks, Gates called this shift the beginning of a new era of “free intelligence,” describing the transformation as both “profound” and “a little bit scary.” While he believes some human roles will remain irreplaceable, Gates acknowledged that fields like manufacturing, food production, and logistics will likely become fully automated, presenting both opportunities and challenges for society.
