NVIDIA is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire Lepton AI, a startup specializing in AI server rentals powered by NVIDIA GPUs, in a deal valued at several hundred million dollars, according to The Information. The move signals NVIDIA’s deeper push into AI infrastructure services, following its recent reported acquisition of synthetic data firm Gretel.
Founded just two years ago, Lepton AI gained traction by offering on-demand access to high-performance servers for AI model training and inference. The company raised $11 million in seed funding in 2023 from CRV and Fusion Fund. With NVIDIA chips already at the heart of Lepton’s offering, the acquisition would give NVIDIA a direct foothold in the growing AI server rental market.
