Markmi, a Ghent-based AI startup focused on pricing optimization for the fashion industry, has raised €1.1 million in seed funding to scale its technology across Europe and enter the U.S. market in 2025. The round included backing from key fashion and tech investors such as Wolf, PMV, and entrepreneurs including Luc Van Mol, Lorenz Bogaert, and Matthias Geeroms.
Founded by Laurent Mainil, Markmi has developed an AI-powered markdown assistant that enables fashion retailers to optimize discount strategies and improve profitability. The company said the funding will also support the evolution of its platform into a full-scale AI pricing engine, incorporating real-time simulations, promotional planning, and full-price management.
