Dennis Xu, co-founder of AI note-taking app Mem, has launched Adaptive Computer, a new startup aiming to let non-programmers build full-featured web apps using only text prompts. Adaptive announced a $7 million seed round led by Pebblebed, with participation from Conviction, Weekend Fund, Anti Fund, Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki, and others.
Xu said Adaptive’s platform, currently in alpha, enables users to create working apps — including databases, payments, and AI features — without technical expertise. Co-founder Mike Soylu joins Xu in building what they describe as a “personal computing” platform for everyday creators.
Xu underlined that unlike tools geared toward developers, Adaptive is designed to simplify app creation for non-programmers and integrate apps seamlessly into a personal ecosystem.
