Czech startup Kardi AI has raised €1.1 million (28 million CZK) to accelerate its AI-powered cardiac monitoring platform, which uses a smart chest strap to detect dangerous arrhythmias with greater accuracy than traditional methods. The round includes new investment from Lumus Investment Collective and a Czech angel investor, with continued support from BrightCap Ventures, DEPO Ventures, and Garage Angels.
Founded by cardiologist Tomáš Skála and entrepreneur Stephen Burke, Kardi AI’s device delivers a 29% arrhythmia detection rate — compared to just 5% from standard 24-hour Holter monitors. Skála said daily monitoring dramatically improves early diagnosis. Vlastimil Hrabal has been appointed CEO as the company expands into Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania, with further plans for the UAE and India.
