Apple is reportedly collaborating with AI research company Anthropic to build a next-generation software development platform that uses generative AI to write, edit, and test code, according to Bloomberg. The new system, internally referred to as a “vibe-coding” platform, is based on Apple’s Xcode and powered by Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet model.
While the tool is currently intended for internal use, Apple has not ruled out a public release. The move signals Apple’s growing reliance on external AI models, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT and potentially Google’s Gemini, to enhance its suite of Apple Intelligence tools. Anthropic’s Claude models have gained traction among developers for their strength in automated code generation and analysis.
