Openlayer Raises $14.5M Series A to Strengthen AI Evaluation and Governance for Enterprises

Openlayer, the enterprise platform for evaluating and governing AI systems, has secured $14.5 million in Series A funding led by Race Capital, with participation from NXTP, KPN Ventures, Mindset, Y Combinator, Quiet Capital, and Telefonica. The company will use the funding to expand its product capabilities and scale go-to-market efforts across industries and international markets.

CEO and co-founder Gabriel Bayomi said that as AI adoption accelerates across critical business functions, robust evaluation and governance are no longer optional. “A single failure in AI deployment can have serious legal, reputational, and user-facing consequences,” he noted.

Openlayer’s platform supports the full AI development lifecycle — from early prototyping to production — enabling teams to test, monitor, and govern both traditional ML and generative AI systems. With real-time observability and multimodal testing, Openlayer is helping enterprises deploy AI with confidence, accuracy, and speed. Founded by Bayomi, Rishab Ramanathan, and Vikas Nair, the company grew nearly 5x in 2024.
