Salesforce announced plans to acquire Informatica in an $8 billion deal aimed at strengthening its AI-powered CRM platform through advanced cloud data management capabilities. The acquisition, approved by both companies’ boards, is expected to close early in Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, pending customary conditions.
In a company statement, Salesforce said the integration of Informatica’s cloud-native tools — including data integration, governance, metadata management, and Master Data Management — will significantly enhance its Data Cloud, MuleSoft, and Tableau offerings. The combined capabilities aim to ensure more context-rich, compliant, and reliable data for AI agents at scale.
Informatica CEO Amit Walia described the merger as “a significant leap forward,” enabling enterprises to fully harness the power of their data in the AI era.
