Anthropic Launches Beta Voice Mode for Claude Chatbot, Enabling Hands-Free Conversations

Anthropic has begun rolling out a beta version of Voice Mode for its Claude AI chatbot, allowing users of the Claude mobile app to engage in real-time spoken conversations. The feature, available in English and powered by Claude Sonnet 4, will become accessible to users over the coming weeks.

According to Anthropic’s support documentation, Voice Mode enables users to speak directly with Claude and receive spoken replies, while also displaying key points and offering a transcript and summary post-conversation. Users can toggle between text and voice and choose from five voice options.

The feature supports document and image discussions and integrates with Google Workspace for paid users. Voice Mode counts toward normal usage limits for free-tier subscribers.
