Anthropic has announced that Reed Hastings, co-founder and former CEO of Netflix, has joined its board of directors. The appointment brings one of Silicon Valley’s most seasoned leaders to one of AI’s most closely watched startups.
Hastings, whose board experience includes Netflix, Microsoft, Meta, and Bloomberg, joins Anthropic at a pivotal time as the company expands its global footprint and advances its mission to build AI systems that benefit humanity. His appointment was made by Anthropic’s Long-Term Benefit Trust, an independent body created to ensure the company prioritizes safety, ethics, and public interest over short-term gains.
Hastings will join Dario and Daniela Amodei, Yasmin Razavi, and Jay Kreps on Anthropic’s board.
