Bathroom Health Monitoring Company Throne Closes $4M Funding Round

Austin-based healthtech startup Throne has raised $4 million in seed funding to advance its AI-driven toilet-mounted device designed to monitor gut and urinary health. The round was led by Moxxie Ventures, with participation from Lance Armstrong, Rupa Health co-founder Tara Viswanathan, and John Capodilupo, former CTO of WHOOP, who now joins Throne as Chief Product Officer.

Rather than a full smart toilet, Throne’s device retrofits to standard toilet bowls, using AI and computer vision to analyze waste in real time. It tracks hydration, urological health, and early markers of conditions like IBS and ulcerative colitis. With clinical partnerships underway and a consumer launch targeted for January 2026, Throne aims to make preventive health monitoring as simple as flushing.
