Toma Closes $17M Funding Round to Bring AI Voice Agents to U.S. Car Dealerships After Immersive Fieldwork

AI voice startup Toma has raised $17 million in Series A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Y Combinator, Scale Angels Fund, and auto industry influencer Yossi Levi. The announcement follows the company’s rapid growth in the U.S. auto sector, with its AI voice agents now deployed in over 100 car dealerships nationwide.

Co-founders Monik Pamecha and Anthony Krivonos pivoted Toma from banking and healthcare to auto after hearing directly from overwhelmed dealers.

The founders personally toured dealerships across Oklahoma and Mississippi to train their AI on real-world operations. “They were effectively living at these dealerships,” said a16z partner Seema Amble.

Toma’s platform now automates service scheduling, parts orders, and sales inquiries — boosting dealership efficiency through subscription-based AI tailored to each site’s needs.
