Apple Explores Deep AI Integration with OpenAI and Anthropic for Future Siri Upgrade

Apple is in discussions with OpenAI and Anthropic to integrate their large language models into a revamped version of Siri, signaling a potential shift away from relying solely on its internal AI systems. According to Bloomberg, the company is testing third-party models on its own cloud infrastructure while continuing development on its proprietary “LLM Siri” project.

The move follows significant delays in Apple’s AI-enabled Siri, now pushed to 2026 or later. Persistent technical setbacks have left Apple trailing competitors like Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic in the generative AI space. While Siri currently offers limited ChatGPT functionality, Apple’s latest efforts suggest a broader partnership strategy may be key to catching up in the race for AI dominance.
