AI startup Perplexity has introduced a new $200-per-month subscription tier, Perplexity Max, aimed at high-demand users seeking advanced tools and early access to frontier AI models. The plan includes unlimited use of its Labs feature for report and spreadsheet generation, early access to experimental products like the AI browser Comet, and priority usage of cutting-edge models such as OpenAI’s o3-pro and Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.
Perplexity joins other leading AI firms — OpenAI, Google, Anthropic — in rolling out premium pricing strategies to monetize power users. With rising infrastructure costs and intensifying competition in AI search, Perplexity hopes Max will strengthen its financial position as it targets a $14 billion valuation and pushes deeper into the enterprise and consumer markets.
