Phosphor Capital, a venture firm founded by two-time Y Combinator alumnus Kulveer Taggar, has raised $34 million across two funds to invest exclusively in startups emerging from the Y Combinator ecosystem. The firm has already backed over 200 YC companies, with early bets including AI-native platforms Circleback and Gumloop.
Taggar, best known as the founder of Zeus Living, launched Phosphor following the startup’s sale to Blueground in 2023. With deep roots in Y Combinator dating back to 2007, Taggar brings a rare founder-turned-investor perspective and counts YC CEO Garry Tan among Phosphor’s backers.
Focused on early-stage AI and software ventures, Phosphor writes checks between $100K and $500K, positioning itself as a founder-first ally within YC’s high-growth pipeline.
