Palo Alto-based Chai AI has secured new funding rounds, bringing its total capital raised to over $55 million. Backed by notable investors including Ken Howery, Bill Elmore, CoreWeave, and AMD, the company continues to scale its user-generated AI (UGAI) platform, which now serves more than 10 million users globally.
Founded in 2021 by William Beauchamp, Chai entered the UGAI space early, surpassing one million users before the launch of ChatGPT and Character AI. With a $40 million annual recurring revenue and a compact team of 11 engineers, Chai is now considered one of Silicon Valley’s most valuable private AI startups, focused on democratizing AI creation and interaction through consumer-led experiences.
