GeniusTravel Secures €2M to Launch AI-Powered Travel App for Budget-Conscious Explorers

Netherlands-based GeniusTravel has raised €2 million to launch Genius, an AI-driven app designed to simplify trip planning for cost-conscious travellers. The funding — sourced from undisclosed investors — will support the app’s debut in the Dutch market this year, with wider European expansion on the horizon.

Founded by Gennie Freen, Genius combines natural language AI with dynamic travel data to build personalized, complete travel packages that include flights and accommodation based on user preferences and budget. The app enables users to interact with an AI agent for recommendations or manually search using filters. Powered by a partnership with Expedia and over three years in development, Genius is now live on both the App Store and Google Play.
