Rune Technologies, a defense tech startup focused on AI-driven logistics, has raised $24 million in a Series A round led by Human Capital, with participation from a16z, Pax VC, Point72 Ventures, Washington Harbour Partners, Forward Deployed VC, and XYZ Venture Capital. The funding follows pilot deployments of its flagship product, TyrOS, with the U.S. Army and Marine Corps.
Founded by former U.S. Army officer David Tuttle and ex-Meta engineer Peter Goldsborough, Rune is building AI software to replace the manual spreadsheets and whiteboards that dominate military logistics. TyrOS uses deep learning and time-series forecasting to optimize supply chains and operates independently in disconnected environments, transforming logistics into a real-time, edge-ready AI system for modern combat scenarios.
