Quarero Launches Production of Autonomous Security Robots

Insider Brief

  • Swiss-German startup Quarero Robotics has launched full-scale production of autonomous security robots in Germany to meet rising global demand for intelligent surveillance infrastructure.
  • The modular AI systems are built for continuous, autonomous operation across indoor and outdoor environments such as airports, campuses, and smart cities, with an initial deployment target of 50 units by end of 2025 and 300 by 2027.
  • Marketed under a Robot-as-a-Service model, Quarero’s platform blends Swiss precision with German engineering, offering clients scalable, low-capital surveillance tools amid global labor shortages and urban risk pressures.

Swiss-German startup Quarero Robotics has begun full-scale production of its autonomous security robots.

According to the company, the systems are designed to operate autonomously around the clock in both indoor and outdoor settings such as airports, industrial zones, and smart cities. Each unit features modular design, real-time data analytics, and predictive diagnostics to ensure continuous performance. The company aims to deploy 50 units by the end of 2025, with plans to scale production to 300 by 2027.

“This is more than robotics, this is infrastructure for a smarter, safer world,” noted Marcus Köhnlein, CEO of Quarero Robotics, in the announcement. “By aligning Swiss innovation with German reliability, we’re delivering next-generation systems built for performance, resilience, and scale.”

The company, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Switzerland, is manufacturing the robots in Germany, emphasizing European engineering standards in response to rising global demand for intelligent security infrastructure.

Quarero indicated it is marketing the technology through a Robot-as-a-Service model, allowing clients to access advanced surveillance capabilities without large capital expenditures. The move comes amid a global shift toward automated security amid labor shortages and increased risks in urban environments. According to Quarero, every robot undergoes rigorous quality checks and is built to integrate into existing infrastructure with minimal disruption.

With its combination of Swiss design and German manufacturing, Quarero is positioning itself as a new player in the AI security market, offering infrastructure-level solutions for a sector that is increasingly leaning on automation to meet growing operational demands.
