Helsinki-based DataCrunch, a cloud platform providing GPU compute for AI development, has secured $64 million (€54.5 million) in a Series A round to accelerate its vision of becoming Europe’s first AI hyperscaler. The round was co-led by byFounders, Skaala, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, and Tesi, with additional participation from J12 Ventures and angel investors.
The financing also included debt facilities led by Nordea and Armada Credit Partners, alongside Danske Bank, Norion Bank, and LähiTapiola. DataCrunch said the funding will support the expansion of its AI infrastructure while prioritizing performance, sovereignty, and sustainability, ensuring accessible and affordable GPU compute for enterprises and researchers across Europe.
