San Francisco-based startup MicroFactory has raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding, with backing from executives at Hugging Face and investor-entrepreneur Naval Ravikant, reaching a $30 million valuation. Founded in 2024 by Igor Kulakov and Viktor Petrenko, the company has developed a compact, AI-driven manufacturing kit about the size of a dog crate.
Unlike traditional robotics companies pursuing humanoid machines, MicroFactory designed an enclosed workstation with dual robotic arms powered by AI. The system can be trained by demonstration, enabling precision tasks such as circuit board assembly, soldering, and cable routing. Hundreds of preorders have already been placed for applications ranging from electronics to food processing.
The new funding will accelerate production, hiring, and further AI model development as MicroFactory transitions its prototype into a commercial product set to ship within two months.
