Oracle announced leadership changes as it strengthens its position in the global AI infrastructure market. Clay Magouyrk, a founding member of Oracle’s cloud engineering team and longtime head of its cloud infrastructure business, and Mike Sicilia, leader of the industries division since June, have been appointed co-CEOs.
Current CEO Safra Catz, who has led the company since 2014, will transition to executive vice chair of the board of directors.
The shift comes as Oracle expands beyond traditional cloud services to secure its place in AI infrastructure. The company has recently joined the $500 billion Stargate Project with OpenAI and SoftBank, signed a $300 billion compute deal with OpenAI, and is finalizing a $20 billion agreement with Meta.
