Lambda Expands Strategic AI Infrastructure Partnership with Microsoft in Multibillion-Dollar Deal

Lambda, the Nvidia-backed cloud computing company, has announced a new multibillion-dollar partnership with Microsoft to deploy tens of thousands of Nvidia GPUs across its cloud infrastructure. The agreement deepens an eight-year collaboration between the two companies and includes deployment of the latest Nvidia GB300 NVL72 systems, which began shipping earlier this year.

Led by CEO Stephen Balaban, Lambda has raised $1.7 billion since its founding in 2012, positioning itself as a key player in the accelerating demand for AI compute infrastructure. The announcement follows Microsoft’s own $9.7 billion AI cloud deal with IREN in Australia and comes amid record global investment in high-performance compute capacity from OpenAI, Amazon, and other AI leaders.
