Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas warned that AI companionship apps are becoming “dangerous” as increasingly lifelike chatbots blur emotional boundaries and risk pulling users into artificial realities, Business Insider reported. His comments come as Perplexity strikes a $400 million deal with Snap and as virtual companion apps from xAI, Replika, and Character.AI surge in popularity—used by over 70% of U.S. teens at least once, according to a recent study. Brussels Knifes Privacy to Feed the AI Boom
The European Commission is preparing to loosen parts of the EU’s landmark GDPR privacy law to boost artificial intelligence development, according to draft plans obtained by POLITICO. The proposed “digital omnibus” package, due November 19, would allow AI firms greater leeway to process sensitive data and ease cookie consent rules, igniting backlash from privacy advocates and governments warning it could undermine fundamental rights. Nebius Group N.V. (Nasdaq: NBIS) will announce its third-quarter 2025 financial results on Tuesday, Nov.11, before markets open, followed by an earnings call at 8:00 a.m. ET.
