Amazon has rolled out a new Alexa+ feature called Greetings, adding conversational AI capabilities to Ring doorbellsthat allow homeowners to manage visitors even when they are away. The update enables Alexa to respond to people at the door based on visual cues such as clothing, actions, and objects, helping handle deliveries, discourage sales visits, or collect messages from friends and family.
The feature allows users to set delivery preferences, guide couriers to package drop-off locations, offer refreshments, and relay messages if a signature is required. It can also politely decline unsolicited sales visits or prompt known visitors to leave a message.
Greetings relies on Ring’s video descriptions rather than identity recognition and is available to Ring Premiumsubscribers using compatible wired doorbells, now rolling out to Alexa+ Early Access users in the U.S. and Canada.
