Google Launches Gemini 3 Flash as Default Model to Accelerate Consumer and Enterprise AI Use

Google has released Gemini 3 Flash, a faster and lower-cost AI model designed to scale everyday and enterprise workloads, and has made it the default model across the Gemini app and AI-powered Search. Built on the Gemini 3 foundation introduced last month, Gemini 3 Flash delivers major performance gains over Gemini 2.5 Flash while approaching frontier-level results seen in Gemini 3 Pro and OpenAI’s GPT-5.2 on several benchmarks.

The model leads on multimodal reasoning tests and significantly improves understanding of video, audio, images, and sketches, enabling use cases from rapid content analysis to app prototyping. Gemini 3 Flash is already being used by companies including JetBrains, Figma, Cursor, Harvey, and Latitude, and is available through Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise, and developer APIs, reinforcing Google’s push to position Flash as its primary high-volume AI workhorse.
