Katalist Raises $1.5M Seed Round to Advance AI-Driven Professional Video Production

Katalist, a San Francisco–based AI platform for professional video production, has secured $1.5 million in seed fundingto accelerate development of its end-to-end, AI-powered production workflow. The round was led by South Central Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on B2B, SaaS, and AI investments across Southeast Europe.

The new capital will be used to expand Katalist’s AI capabilities and strengthen its position as a core production tool for film, marketing, and high-end digital content. Katalist’s platform applies machine learning to automate complex workflows, enabling creators to move from scripts to shot lists, storyboards, and finished video while retaining creative control and production quality.

The platform is already used by more than 250,000 professionals worldwide and has supported millions of video assets distributed across television, social media, and streaming platforms, underscoring growing demand for AI-native tools in professional content creation.
