Wodan AI, a Spanish-Belgian startup building privacy-first artificial intelligence, has closed a €2 million pre-seed funding round to accelerate the development of secure and sovereign AI systems for sensitive European industries. The round was led by JME Ventures, Swanlaab, and Adara Ventures, with participation from Belgium-based ScaleFund.
Founded by Bob Dubois and Manuel Pérez Yllán, Wodan AI enables machine learning, computer vision, and large language models to operate directly on fully encrypted data using advances in homomorphic encryption, ensuring information is never decrypted during processing. The technology targets regulated sectors including banking, defense, healthcare, and public administration.
The new funding will support product development, team expansion, and a relocation of the company’s headquarters to Madrid, positioning Wodan AI as a key player in Europe’s push for secure, compliant AI infrastructure.
