Aidoptation Secures €20M to Scale AI-Driven Autonomous Systems for Commercial and Defense Use

Belgian-American startup Aidoptation has secured €20 million in additional financing to accelerate the development and industrialisation of advanced AI-powered autonomous systems. The round included backing from SFPIM, John Cockerill Defence, Ethias Ventures, and Belfius Bank & Insurance, reinforcing strong public and strategic support.

Founded in 2025 as a commercial spin-off from the Indy Autonomous Challenge, Aidoptation is headquartered at DronePort in Sint-Truiden and develops high-performance autonomous driving technology for commercial vehicles, emergency services, and defense-relevant environments. Its flagship platform, EdgeDrive, enables high-speed autonomous driving and has reached advanced technology readiness for highway use.

The new capital will fund AI research, industrial scaling, and international partnerships across Europe, the US, and Asia.
