Leona Health Raises $14M Seed to Scale AI Copilot for Doctors on WhatsApp

Leona Health, an AI-powered healthcare platform built directly on WhatsApp, has secured $14 million in Seed funding to expand its clinical workflow automation across Latin America and beyond. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from General Catalyst, Accel, and leading healthcare and fintech founders including Kate Ryder, David Vélez, and Simón Borrero.

Founded by Caroline Merin, Leona Health provides an AI copilot that helps doctors manage patient communication and administrative tasks through a dedicated mobile app, using automation to triage messages, suggest responses, and coordinate care teams. The company currently operates in 14 countries across more than 22 medical specialties. The new capital will support international growth and deeper automation of non-clinical workflows as Leona positions itself as core AI infrastructure for modern healthcare delivery.
