Ford Unveils AI Assistant and Next-Generation BlueCruise at CES 2026

Ford has announced the development of a new AI-powered digital assistant that will launch in the company’s smartphone app in early 2026 before expanding into vehicles in 2027, according to details shared at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show. The assistant is being built on Google Cloud using large language models and will have access to vehicle-specific data, enabling it to answer both general and real-time questions about a driver’s vehicle.

Alongside the assistant, Ford previewed a next-generation BlueCruise advanced driver assistance system that is 30% cheaper to manufacture and more capable than its predecessor. The updated system is expected to debut in 2027 on the first electric vehicle built on Ford’s low-cost Universal Electric Vehicle platform, a mid-sized pickup. Ford said the technology roadmap targets eyes-off driving in 2028 and future point-to-point autonomous capabilities, while maintaining driver supervision.
